alternative meaning of words

There was an article in the September/October issue of MAG magazine, the magazine of the Motorcycle Action Group, under the title Neologisms. Neologisms, according to MAG, means alternative meanings for words. According to the Google dictionary thing, Neologism means a newly coined word or expression. Or it could mean a portmanteau word, combining the meaning of two or more words. Oh, I do go on. Anyway. MAG had a load of these from the Washington post. So here are few more too 🙂

Non-Proliferation Treaty : Nobody gets any profiteroles

Arachnophobia: Fear of Anoraks

Negligent: Abscent-mindedly answering the door in your wifes nightdress

Tantric Sex: Pulling both a male and female rabbit out of a top hat, whilst under a sun lamp

The Washington Post also ran a competition which asked readers to take any word, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new meaning.
