Sticky Labels
You used to be able to buy made-to-measure UPVC windows from Wickes and fit them yourself. (My six-year-old asked me why don’t Wickes sell candles? 🙂 ) Our house has all the back windows from Wickes, which I installed in 2004. A couple of them still have the sticky labels on them. You try to scrape them off and you are just left with a sticky patch from the glue. You can actually get label remover spray, which dissolves the glue. But the problem is rife. You buy plates and cups and they have to go through the washing up ten times before the labels and gungy glue comes off. In this house quite a bit of crockers doesn’t always seem to actually last that long.
